Samsung is preparing for the release of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, but the upcoming model will not just be a repeat of its predecessor. According to the latest leaks, the 2026 device introduces several design changes that could appeal to Galaxy S fans. Here’s what to expect.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: A Taller, Wider, and Thinner Design
The Galaxy S26 is expected to be both taller and wider than the S25 Ultra. The new dimensions will be 163.6 x 78.1mm. While the difference is minor, it still represents a design shift. The most noticeable change is in the thickness. The S26 Ultra is rumored to be 7.9mm thick, down from the 8.2mm of the previous model. Samsung is clearly aiming for a slimmer profile.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: A Rounder, More Comfortable Design
In addition to its size adjustments, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature rounder corners. This design change will make the device feel more like a proper Galaxy S flagship instead of resembling a Galaxy Note. Rounder edges should also improve comfort when using the phone one-handed.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: A Redesigned S Pen Clicker
The S Pen, typically known for its flat clicker button, is undergoing a design overhaul. Leaks suggest that Samsung has shifted the S Pen holster closer to the side frame. This change will make the S Pen clicker follow the contour of the phone’s corner. The clicker will be taller on one side and shorter on the other. This design marks a departure from previous S Pen models.
Samsung S26 Ultra: The Return of the Camera Hump
The most noticeable design change in the S26 Ultra may be the camera housing. Samsung’s design will return to a more subtle camera hump, similar to earlier models like the S21 Ultra. Since the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Samsung has used individual camera rings, but the S26 Ultra will reintroduce a more unified camera housing. This change is expected to be smaller and less prominent than the bumps found in older models.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: A Bigger Infinity-O Selfie Camera Cutout
The S26 Ultra is also expected to have a slightly larger Infinity-O selfie camera cutout. This change is a byproduct of the new selfie camera, which is rumored to offer a wider field of view. The larger cutout may go unnoticed by many users, but it marks a minor design adjustment.
Samsung S26 Ultra: New and Possibly More Color Options
Samsung is expected to offer the S26 Ultra in several new colors. The leaked colors include:
- Black
- Cobalt Violet
- Pink Gold
- Silver Shadow
- SkyBlue
- White
The white variant is said to be especially appealing. It’s unclear whether some of these colors will be online exclusives. If not, the S26 Ultra may offer more color options than its predecessor.
