Glasses-free 3D gaming took center stage as Samsung introduced new display innovations at the Game Developers Conference 2026 in San Francisco. The company revealed expanded support for immersive 3D gameplay through its Odyssey 3D gaming monitor ecosystem.
Samsung demonstrated how advanced display technology can transform gaming experiences without requiring special glasses. The showcase featured several major titles that will support the platform, highlighting the company’s collaboration with leading game developers.
The announcement also included updates to Samsung’s HDR10+ gaming technology and its expanding library of compatible titles. Together, these innovations aim to strengthen Samsung’s position in the competitive gaming display market.
Glasses-free 3D gaming expands with Odyssey ecosystem
Glasses-free 3D gaming continues to grow through Samsung’s Odyssey 3D platform. The company confirmed that the 3D gaming library will expand significantly by the end of the year.
Currently, more than 60 titles already support the technology through the Odyssey 3D Hub. Samsung expects that number to surpass 120 games before the end of 2026.
Two major upcoming titles will join the ecosystem. The action-adventure horror game Hell Is Us will launch with 3D support in March. Meanwhile, the survival horror game Cronos: The New Dawn will integrate the technology later this year.
Developers designed both games to take advantage of immersive 3D visuals. As a result, players can experience environments with greater depth and realism.
Samsung says its growing partnerships with major studios are central to expanding the platform. The company aims to make immersive gaming accessible to a wider audience through these collaborations.
Samsung introduces advanced HDR10+ gaming technology
Glasses-free 3D gaming is not the only feature highlighted at the event. Samsung also showcased its HDR10+ GAMING technology designed to enhance visual quality in games.
The system analyzes scenes and frames automatically to optimize brightness, contrast, and color levels. Consequently, games appear more realistic and detailed on compatible displays.
Samsung has supported HDR10+ gaming on its Odyssey monitors and televisions since 2022. The technology works especially well on displays with refresh rates above 120Hz.
During the conference, Samsung confirmed new partnerships with major game studios to expand HDR10+ support. One collaboration involves the renowned developer CD PROJEKT RED.
The companies are working together to integrate HDR10+ GAMING into Cyberpunk 2077. This integration aims to deliver richer lighting and improved detail across the game’s futuristic environments.
Samsung also expanded its partnership with Pearl Abyss. The upcoming open-world action-adventure game Crimson Desert will feature HDR10+ gaming support when it launches.
Odyssey monitors showcased at GDC 2026
Glasses-free 3D gaming demonstrations formed a central part of Samsung’s presence at GDC 2026. The company hosted hands-on sessions where journalists and industry professionals tested the latest Odyssey monitors.
The demonstrations allowed participants to experience Hell Is Us in 3D before its official public release. Samsung used the event to highlight several displays from its Odyssey gaming monitor lineup.
The 27-inch Odyssey 3D monitor includes advanced eye-tracking technology that creates realistic depth effects without requiring glasses. The company also plans to release a larger 32-inch model later this year.
Another display, the 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8, features 4K QD-OLED technology with a refresh rate of 240Hz. This model delivers strong color accuracy and high contrast levels.
Samsung also presented the 32-inch Odyssey G8, which offers a 6K resolution and refresh rates of up to 165Hz. The monitor includes Dual Mode support that can increase performance to 330Hz in 3K resolution.
Additionally, the Odyssey G6 monitor introduced an ultra-high refresh rate of 1,040Hz. This capability targets esports players who require extremely responsive displays.
Glasses-free 3D gaming powered by eye tracking technology
Glasses-free 3D gaming relies on advanced eye-tracking and view mapping technology built into the Odyssey 3D monitor. These systems detect the viewer’s position and adjust the depth of the displayed image in real time.
As the player moves, the monitor automatically adapts the visual perspective. This adjustment creates a natural three-dimensional effect without requiring external accessories.
Samsung designed the system to maintain smooth performance during fast gameplay. The monitor supports a 165Hz refresh rate and a response time of 1 millisecond, ensuring fluid motion during action sequences.
Traditional 3D displays often required specialized glasses or reduced visual clarity. However, Samsung’s new approach aims to deliver immersive depth without compromising performance or comfort.
The growing ecosystem of supported games and hardware suggests that glasses-free 3D gaming could become a major feature in future gaming displays. With expanding partnerships and a growing library of compatible titles, Samsung continues pushing forward with its vision for more immersive gaming experiences.
