amsung is once again preparing for new device releases. The GSMA database recently revealed upcoming Galaxy tablets and wearables, confirming Samsung’s plans for 2026. The new devices include the Galaxy Tab S12 series, Galaxy Watch 9, and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, the much-awaited successor to the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2
The GSMA database lists two upcoming smartwatches from Samsung:
- SM-L345: Galaxy Watch 9
- SM-L716: Galaxy Watch Ultra 2
These model numbers show that Samsung is working on a true successor to the 2024 Galaxy Watch Ultra. The SM-L716 model number signals a significant update, rather than just another refresh. The Galaxy Watch 8 used model numbers SM-L320, SM-L330, and SM-L335 for different sizes and connectivity options.
The new model number for the Ultra 2 suggests that it will bring major upgrades. Samsung is set to improve its smartwatches, possibly adding advanced sensors and improved battery life.

The Evolution of Samsung’s Smartwatch Lineup
Samsung has gradually improved its smartwatch lineup, and the upcoming Galaxy Watch 9 and Ultra 2 will continue this trend. With new features and upgrades, these devices are expected to outperform previous models. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will likely have better performance, health tracking features, and battery life, making it a key competitor in the smartwatch market.
Is Samsung Reshuffling the Tab S Series Again?
In addition to the smartwatches, the GSMA database also confirmed the development of two premium tablets: the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. Samsung has skipped the base model, focusing on the Plus and Ultra tiers instead. The model numbers SM-X846 for the Tab S12+ and SM-X946 for the Tab S12 Ultra suggest a new strategy.
Samsung had previously released the Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra, but it shifted gears with the Tab S11 series. Now, the Tab S12 series could follow a similar strategy, emphasizing the premium models. The Galaxy Tab S11 series used model numbers SM-X730 and SM-X736 for the base model, while the Tab S11 Ultra had SM-X930 and SM-X936.

Later in the year, the Galaxy Tab S12 series could follow with its own launch. These devices will offer significant upgrades in design, performance, and features.
Before these releases, Samsung will launch the Galaxy S26 series at the end of this month. This release will likely set the tone for Samsung’s premium devices for the rest of 2026.
