Samsung users are closely watching developments as the One UI 8.5 release timeline for the Galaxy S25 series begins to take shape. After months of beta testing, expectations are rising that the stable update may arrive soon.

The company recently introduced the beta version of One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 QPR2. Since then, Samsung has released multiple beta builds, signaling an extended testing phase before the official rollout.

One UI 8.5 release timeline emerges for Galaxy S25

According to tipster Tarun Vats, the update could arrive on April 30 in South Korea. This rollout is expected to cover the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Samsung often prioritizes its home market for major software updates. Therefore, users in South Korea typically receive new builds first before a wider rollout begins.

The tip suggests that global users may not have to wait long. Samsung usually expands availability within a few days of the initial launch.

Extended beta testing delays rollout timeline

The rollout has taken longer than expected due to an unusually high number of beta builds. So far, Samsung has pushed out eight beta updates for the Galaxy S25 lineup.

This extended testing phase indicates that the company is refining performance and stability. While users anticipated a quicker rollout, Samsung appears focused on delivering a polished final version.

As a result, anticipation has grown among users eager to move from beta to stable software.

Global rollout expected after initial release

Following the expected launch in South Korea, the One UI 8.5 release should expand globally within three to four days. Based on this pattern, the update could reach international users by May 4.

This timeline aligns with Samsung’s standard software rollout strategy. The company typically ensures stability in its domestic market before pushing updates worldwide.

Consequently, users across regions can expect a relatively quick release once the update goes live.

What the update means for Galaxy S25 users

The upcoming software is built on Android 16 QPR2, which brings system improvements and feature enhancements. Although Samsung has not officially detailed all changes, beta versions suggest improvements in performance and user experience.

Users can expect smoother animations, better battery optimization, and enhanced customization options. These updates aim to refine the overall Galaxy experience.

Samsung strategy behind the rollout

Samsung’s approach reflects a shift toward stability and user satisfaction. By extending the beta phase, the company aims to minimize bugs and ensure a seamless transition to the stable build.

This strategy may delay releases slightly, but it improves long-term reliability. As competition intensifies in the Android ecosystem, software quality has become a key differentiator.

With the expected rollout approaching, Galaxy S25 users now have a clearer timeline for the One UI 8.5 release.
