As of November 2025, Samsung has expanded its commitment to offering regular software updates across its range of devices. The company now provides monthly security maintenance releases (SMR) for 42 of its Galaxy phone models. Samsung’s dedication to consistent updates ensures that users enjoy the latest security patches and operating system improvements, keeping their phones secure and up to date for years.

Samsung has divided the software update cycle into monthly, quarterly, and biannual schedules, with the majority of flagship devices being eligible for monthly updates. This focus on regular updates also helps improve the overall user experience, performance, and security of Samsung smartphones.

The Importance of Monthly Updates for Samsung Devices

Samsung’s commitment to monthly software updates ensures that its users enjoy better security, bug fixes, and performance improvements. Monthly updates are essential, especially for flagship devices like the Galaxy S series and Galaxy Z series, as they address newly discovered vulnerabilities and keep devices secure.

With 7-year support for most flagship models and 6-year support for mid-range and budget devices, Samsung has set the bar high for other manufacturers, ensuring that customers get long-lasting value from their phones.

What Makes Samsung’s Update Policy Stand Out?

Samsung’s software policy ensures that users receive timely updates for their devices, providing peace of mind and a high level of customer satisfaction. In addition, the company’s ability to keep phones updated for such extended periods—unlike many competitors—is a testament to its commitment to quality and security.

As smartphones become more integral to our daily lives, having long-term software support is more important than ever. Samsung’s efforts to deliver frequent security patches and new features keep its devices competitive in the market, ensuring users can enjoy cutting-edge functionality and improved device longevity.

Conclusion: Stay Updated with Samsung’s Galaxy Devices

With 42 Galaxy models now eligible for monthly updates, Samsung remains a leader in ensuring its devices are secure, functional, and future-proof. Whether you own a flagship Galaxy S phone or a mid-range Galaxy A device, you can rest assured that your device will stay up-to-date with monthly security releases and the latest performance enhancements.
