Google has started rolling out a visually appealing redesign of the Gemini user interface, which is now being featured on several Samsung smartphones, including the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The Gemini app, which powers Google’s AI assistant, is getting a fresh, modern update that enhances the user experience across various interfaces. Google Gemini UI redesign

What’s New in the Gemini UI Redesign

The new Gemini user interface focuses on refining the homepage layout, providing users with a cleaner, more intuitive experience. Both Light and Dark mode screens have been updated to make navigation smoother and visually appealing.

One of the major changes is the repositioning of the “Hello [Name]” greeting, which now comes with an additional prompt: “Where should we start?” This text has been aligned to the left side, giving a more streamlined and modern look. Additionally, the pill-shaped buttons now follow a vertical layout, replacing the previous centered text and wrapped buttons.

Light Mode and Dark Mode Tweaks

For users of Light mode, the traditional solid white background has been updated to a subtle grayish tone, offering a softer aesthetic. In contrast, Dark mode now features a much deeper black background, replacing the previous grayish hues to provide a more immersive experience, especially in low-light settings.

Despite these changes, key elements like the three-line button, app header, profile icon, and bottom bar remain in their original positions, ensuring consistency for users transitioning from older versions of the UI.

Menu and My Stuff Pages

The Menu page introduces a search bar at the top, followed by options to start a new chat or view previously created content, such as images and videos in the My Stuff section. This streamlined layout allows users to quickly find what they need without unnecessary clutter.

The Gems option, which was previously part of a more complex interface, now has its own separate page, showcasing the top two Gemini shortcuts for easy access. This addition adds to the overall organization and simplicity of the UI, ensuring that users can navigate through their content and interactions with ease.

Simplified Chat Screen

The chat screen has also undergone a few adjustments to enhance usability. The account switcher button has been removed, making room for a new option that allows users to start a new chat directly from the existing conversation. Additionally, a drop-down button has been added at the top, expanding to a quick menu where users can easily share conversations, pin chats, rename, or delete them instantly.

These changes are aimed at providing a more simplified user experience, allowing users to access important features with fewer taps.

Availability of the Google Gemini UI Upgrade

This update is rolling out to Android users with the Google app 16.45 version, bringing the new Gemini UI to a wide range of Android devices. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra users, in particular, will notice the redesign immediately upon updating their devices, providing a fresh and modern experience with Google’s AI assistant.
