Samsung is moving quickly to prepare its next-generation software update. The company’s latest custom Android skin, One UI 8, based on Android 16, is already available in beta for the Galaxy S25 series in select markets. However, it will still take time for older and mid-range Galaxy devices to get the update.

One of the smartphones expected to receive One UI 8 is the Galaxy A55. Recent leaks suggest the device could get the stable build by the end of 2025.

Galaxy A55 Spotted on Geekbench with Android 16

A Galaxy A55 model, carrying the code SM-A556E, has appeared on the Geekbench database running Android 16. This is a strong indication that Samsung has already started internal testing of One UI 8 for this model.

The Galaxy A55 is powered by the Exynos 1480 chipset and currently ships with One UI 7 based on Android 15.

When Will One UI 8 Arrive for Galaxy A55?

While Samsung has not officially confirmed rollout dates, here’s what to expect based on previous timelines:

  • The One UI 8 beta program for Galaxy A55 will likely open in the coming months.
  • A stable version of the update could be released before 2026.

Until then, Galaxy A55 users will continue using One UI 7, which still delivers a smooth and modern Android experience.

What’s New in One UI 8?

One UI 8 brings several improvements and new features over One UI 7, including:

  • Enhanced customization options
  • Smarter AI-assisted tools
  • Improved battery management
  • Updated privacy and security controls
  • Refined animations and visual design

As the beta progresses, more details about specific changes for the Galaxy A55 will become clear.
