Samsung One UI 7 update bug has forced the tech giant to halt the rollout of its latest software update after users reported a critical issue affecting device unlock functionality. The issue surfaced just days after the company began pushing the stable update to flagship models including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) revealed that the update triggered a serious bug. Some users, especially those with Galaxy S24 devices in South Korea, said they were unable to unlock their phones after installing One UI 7. The bug reportedly impacted the screen unlock mechanism, effectively locking users out of their devices.
Samsung quickly responded to the reports by investigating the issue and pulling the update. The company has since suspended the rollout in all affected regions, including China, Europe, South Korea, and the United States.
Although Samsung had tested One UI 7 for weeks through its beta program, the bug went undetected, raising questions about the company’s internal quality assurance and testing procedures.
The setback could delay the global release of the stable One UI 7 update for other eligible Galaxy devices. Users are now advised to wait for further communication from Samsung before attempting to install any manual updates.
With user trust and software stability at stake, Samsung may face increased pressure to improve its pre-release testing and rollout strategy going forward.
