The Samsung Galaxy M56 redefines slim and powerful smartphones in 2025 as Samsung rolls out its sleekest midrange model yet. While the spotlight may soon shine on the flagship Galaxy S25 Edge, the Galaxy M56 quietly dominates its category with a design that’s 30% slimmer than its predecessor.
Ultra-Slim and Lightweight Build
Measuring only 7.2mm thick and weighing 180g, the Samsung Galaxy M56 leads the race as the slimmest smartphone in its price range. For comparison, the Galaxy A56 comes in at 7.4mm while the older M55 was bulkier at 7.8mm. Despite the thinner body, Samsung maintained the 5,000mAh battery, offering excellent battery life without adding bulk.
Brighter and Bolder Display
Samsung equipped the M56 with a 6.74-inch Super AMOLED+ display, which delivers a 1080p+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Compared to the M55, this panel shines 33% brighter and features 36% thinner bezels. This upgrade enhances video streaming and gaming with richer visuals and smoother transitions.
Efficient Performance with Exynos 1480
The Galaxy M56 runs on the 4nm Exynos 1480 chipset, built with AMD RDNA 2 graphics and Cortex-A78/A55 CPU cores. While it doesn’t match the newer Exynos 1580, it still handles multitasking and gaming effectively. Samsung also added a 33% larger vapor chamber to improve heat management during intensive use.
This setup pairs with 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Although Samsung hasn’t confirmed a microSD slot, the device supports dual SIM cards and sub-6GHz 5G across popular bands (1, 3, 5, 8, 28, 40, 41, 78). Additional features include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and USB-C 2.0, though it lacks NFC.
Powerful Camera System with Galaxy AI
The 50MP main camera features optical image stabilization (OIS) and an f/1.8 lens, supporting 4K video at 30fps and 10-bit HDR. While Samsung skipped a telephoto lens, the main sensor provides 2x in-sensor zoom for high-quality close-ups. The rear also includes an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro lens. The front houses a 12MP selfie shooter with an f/2.2 lens.
Galaxy AI tools like Edit Suggestions, Object Eraser, and Image Clipper enhance your photos with intuitive editing options.
Battery, Charging, and Durability
The 5,000mAh battery charges quickly with 45W wired charging. Samsung upgraded the M56’s durability by using Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both sides, offering four times the scratch resistance of the M55. Although it lacks an official IP rating, Samsung tested the phone for 2-meter drops, ensuring solid ruggedness.
Software Longevity and Availability
Samsung manufactures the Galaxy M56 in India and promises six years of software support, including six OS updates and six years of security patches.
The device comes in Light Green and Black and is expected to launch soon, offering a premium design and long-term value in the midrange market.
