Nvidia is set to launch an upgraded Shield TV, adding support for AV1 and Samsung’s HDR10+. The Shield TV, one of the most powerful Android TV devices, will soon offer even better features for users.

Andrew Bell, Nvidia’s senior vice president of hardware engineering, confirmed the upcoming model. In an interview with Ars Technica, he shared that it would include support for AV1 video codecs and HDR10+ for enhanced viewing.

New Features for Nvidia Shield TV

The new Shield TV will support HDR10+, which is especially useful for Samsung TV owners. This feature enhances video quality, offering vivid colors and improved contrast. It competes with Dolby Vision 2, a premium HDR format, and will provide better streaming experiences.

AV1 support is another key upgrade. This modern video codec reduces the amount of bandwidth needed while maintaining high-quality video. Users with slower internet connections will benefit from streaming in excellent quality without buffering.

Nvidia’s Long-Term Commitment

Nvidia has committed to lifetime software updates for all Shield TV models. Bell assured customers that even older devices will receive updates for years to come. This promise ensures that users won’t need to upgrade their devices just to keep up with the latest features.

Why Nvidia Shield TV Leads the Market

The Shield TV remains one of the top streaming devices, even after 10 years. Its Tegra processor, with four powerful CPU cores and a strong GPU, keeps it ahead of competitors. This hardware also makes it perfect for gaming, supporting cloud gaming services like GeForce NOW.

Nvidia’s dedication to constant updates and improvements ensures that the Shield TV stays relevant and competitive. With the upcoming changes, it will continue to be the go-to choice for those looking for top-notch performance in both streaming and gaming.

The new Shield TV will offer better picture quality, more features, and modern support like AV1 and HDR10+. Nvidia’s ongoing commitment to quality and support makes it a great investment for streaming enthusiasts and gamers alike.
