Samsung is preparing its next flagship mobile processor, the Exynos 2700 chip, for future Galaxy smartphones. Reports indicate that Samsung completed the design stage late last year and is now moving toward early production testing.

Industry sources suggest the company plans to begin producing sample units around May or June. These early chips will allow engineers to test performance, stability, and power efficiency before moving to large-scale manufacturing.

Development Moves Toward Production

The Exynos 2700 chip marks the next step in Samsung’s smartphone processor roadmap. After completing its architecture and design phase, the company is preparing limited manufacturing runs for testing.

Sample production plays a critical role in chip development. Engineers evaluate performance, thermals, and compatibility during this phase to ensure the processor meets expectations for flagship devices.

If testing proceeds successfully, the processor could be ready in time for the Galaxy S27 series launch.

Samsung Strengthens Its Processor Strategy

Samsung has continued investing in its in-house chip technology in recent years. The company introduced the Exynos 2600 processor with the Galaxy S26 series, bringing new artificial intelligence capabilities and improvements in camera performance.

The upcoming Exynos 2700 chip is expected to continue this trend. Analysts expect stronger AI processing, better energy efficiency, and improved performance compared with earlier generations.

These upgrades are important as smartphones increasingly depend on artificial intelligence for photography, automation, and system optimisation.

Galaxy S27 May Expand Exynos Usage

Samsung traditionally uses different processors depending on the region. Some markets receive Exynos-powered models, while others use Qualcomm Snapdragon chips.

However, reports suggest Samsung may expand the use of the Exynos 2700 chip in the Galaxy S27 lineup. Increasing reliance on internal processors could help the company reduce dependence on external suppliers.

Although detailed specifications remain undisclosed, the new processor is expected to play a central role in Samsung’s next generation of flagship devices.
