Samsung Electronics has announced an exciting expansion of its Certified Re-Newed (CRN) program to select European markets. Following successful launches in the U.S. and South Korea, Samsung is now offering refurbished Galaxy devices in France, Germany, and the UK. This initiative aims to make high-quality, flagship devices more accessible to consumers while maintaining trusted performance, quality, and warranty—further strengthening Samsung’s commitment to a sustainable, circular economy.

Making Premium Devices More Accessible

The Certified Re-Newed program is designed to provide consumers with an affordable way to own high-end Samsung Galaxy devices. By refurbishing returned devices to meet Samsung’s high-quality standards, the company offers customers a reliable and cost-effective alternative to purchasing brand-new smartphones. This expansion reflects Samsung’s ongoing efforts to increase product availability while contributing to sustainability by reducing electronic waste.

Jun Kim, EVP and Head of Galaxy Value Innovation Team at Samsung Electronics, stated, “We’re excited to expand our Certified Re-Newed program in European markets to provide customers with more options for purchasing flagship devices. While contributing to the circular economy, we hope more customers can experience our latest innovations, including Galaxy AI.”

Trusted Quality with Samsung Standards

One of the key aspects that differentiate Samsung’s Certified Re-Newed devices from other refurbished or secondhand options is the company’s stringent refurbishment process. Starting with the Galaxy S25 series, the Certified Re-Newed devices undergo an in-house expert inspection and refurbishment process that includes:

  • Rigorous Cleaning: Each device is thoroughly cleaned to look as good as new.
  • Quality Tests: More than 100 tests are conducted to ensure the device functions optimally.
  • Genuine Parts: Only genuine Samsung parts are used during the reconditioning process.
  • Data Wipe: All personal data is deleted, and the device is reset to factory settings.

Samsung also ensures that these devices are restored to their original condition, both in terms of appearance and functionality. After refurbishment, the devices are packaged in eco-friendly boxes made from recyclable materials, complete with the same accessories and in-box items as a new device.

Warranty and Software Updates

A major advantage of Samsung’s Certified Re-Newed devices is that they come with the same warranty as new Galaxy devices. This provides customers with peace of mind, knowing they are getting a high-quality product backed by Samsung’s trusted support. Additionally, these devices are issued new IMEI numbers and come pre-installed with the latest software updates, ensuring long-term security and performance.

Samsung’s focus on ensuring security, performance, and usability is evident in the care taken to provide updates, including the most recent Galaxy AI features. These updates make the devices not only secure but also capable of offering the latest innovations from Samsung.

Availability and Future Plans

Samsung’s Certified Re-Newed devices are currently available for purchase exclusively on Samsung.com in select markets. The Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra Certified Re-Newed models are now available in France, Germany, and the UK. Samsung plans to expand the CRN program to other markets based on consumer demand and market conditions.

In addition to flagship Galaxy smartphones, Samsung intends to introduce more products into the Certified Re-Newed program in the future, further enhancing consumer choice and supporting sustainable practices across its product lines.

Samsung’s expansion of the Certified Re-Newed program to France, Germany, and the UK is a significant step forward in making high-quality Galaxy devices more accessible while promoting sustainability. By offering expertly refurbished devices with the same warranty and performance as new models, Samsung continues to lead the way in innovation, trust, and environmental responsibility. Whether you’re looking for a cost-effective upgrade or simply want to make a more sustainable purchase, the CRN program offers an excellent solution without compromising on quality.
