Samsung One UI 7 rollout halted globally after Galaxy S24 users reported a critical bug. The glitch, which prevents some devices from unlocking, surfaced shortly after the update launched.

Tipster Ice Universe first flagged the issue, calling it a “serious bug.” Most complaints came from Galaxy S24 owners in South Korea. However, Samsung paused the rollout for all models worldwide to prevent further problems.

The One UI 7 update included Android 15 and several AI enhancements. Samsung began releasing it on April 7 for the Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6. U.S. devices received it by April 10. Despite the global release, the bug prompted an immediate response.

Some users had already downloaded the update. But after the pause, tracking tool CheckFirm no longer shows One UI 7 as the latest firmware. Instead, Samsung’s servers now list earlier builds for multiple Galaxy models.

So far, Samsung hasn’t released a public statement or a fix. Users who installed One UI 7 remain unsure of what to expect next. Many are calling for a quick patch to restore full device functionality.

This issue adds to frustrations about the update’s timing. Samsung launched it seven months after Android 15 became available to developers and two months after Galaxy S25 phones shipped with it pre-installed.

The delayed release already disappointed many users. Now, the rollout pause raises deeper concerns about Samsung’s software testing and quality control.

Moving forward, users should avoid installing the update until Samsung provides clear guidance. For now, the Samsung One UI 7 rollout halted notice serves as a reminder of how even flagship updates can go wrong.
