Samsung Electronics unveiled its game-changing 32-inch Color E-Paper (EM32DX model) on June 5, 2025, redefining digital signage with ultra-low power consumption and vibrant visuals. Announced via Samsung’s Global Newsroom, this launch marks a significant step in sustainable technology for businesses, building on its debut at InfoComm 2024 and ISE 2025. Here’s why this innovation is turning heads.

Near-Zero Power, Maximum Impact

The Samsung Color E-Paper uses advanced digital ink technology, consuming 0.00W when displaying static images, per IEC62301 standards, and significantly less energy during transitions compared to traditional LCD signage. Its 4600mAh battery lasts up to 200 days with one daily content update, allowing placement without a constant power source. This efficiency, paired with a QHD (2,560 x 1,440) resolution and Samsung’s color imaging algorithm, delivers smooth, vibrant visuals akin to paper posters, ideal for retail, restaurants, and airports.

Slim, Versatile Design

Weighing just 2.5kg and only 17.9mm thick, the Color E-Paper is ultra-slim, with 13.9mm bezels for seamless use in portrait or landscape modes. It supports VESA mounts and includes hanging accessories for flexible installation on walls, tables, or ceilings. Equipped with two USB-C ports, 8GB storage, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, it ensures easy connectivity. The display’s cover uses 55% recycled plastic, and its packaging is fully paper-based, aligning with Samsung’s sustainability goal

Smart Content Management

Businesses can manage content effortlessly via the Samsung E-Paper app (Android 10+, iOS 15+), which supports remote control, scheduling, and playlist creation. The Samsung VXT platform, running on Tizen 8.0, offers real-time monitoring and centralized management, with a tailored algorithm ensuring color accuracy. This integration simplifies deployment across multiple locations, making it a go-to for enterprises.

Award-Winning Innovation

Samsung’s Color E-Paper won the Best Product Award at ISE 2025, praised for its energy efficiency and versatility. Available in 13-inch, 25-inch, 32-inch, and a 75-inch 5K outdoor model, it caters to diverse needs. Posts on X highlight its appeal for energy-saving retail signage and even home use as digital art frames. Samsung’s 16-year dominance in digital signage, with a 34.6% market share in 2024, underscores its leadership

Why It Matters

The Color E-Paper offers businesses a sustainable, cost-effective alternative to paper-based and traditional digital displays. With 74% of retail businesses seeing up to 50% cost savings from digital signage, per PwC Australia research, this launch is timely. Its eco-friendly design and smart features position it as a leader in the shift toward greener tech.
