Samsung is reportedly gearing up to introduce a cutting-edge image-to-video generation tool within its Galaxy AI suite, according to a leak shared on social media platform X. While the tipster remained tight-lipped about the specifics, the new feature is expected to transform still images into short AI-generated video clips — an innovation that could redefine how users interact with their galleries.
The leak surfaces shortly after Google showcased the advanced video generation capabilities of its Gemini AI model. Notably, Gemini is already integrated as the default virtual assistant on Samsung Galaxy devices, suggesting that Samsung may be building upon Google’s infrastructure to power its own tools.
Meanwhile, Honor appears to be ahead of the curve. Its upcoming Honor 400 series will debut a similar image-to-video feature, also powered by Google’s AI. Early adopters will enjoy two months of free access, after which a subscription model will apply.
Samsung has not yet confirmed a release date, but insiders speculate the new feature could arrive with One UI 8.0, which is based on Android 16. Some industry watchers also anticipate that Samsung might follow Honor’s lead by introducing a paywall after a trial period — though this remains unverified.
As the competition heats up in AI-driven mobile innovation, Samsung’s move could be a major step in keeping its Galaxy line ahead of rivals. For now, all eyes are on One UI 8 and the promise of transforming static memories into dynamic stories.
