Samsung Projects ₩4.6 Trillion Operating Profit for Q2 2025
SEOUL, South Korea (July 8, 2025) — Samsung Electronics has released its preliminary earnings guidance for the second quarter of 2025, forecasting an operating profit of approximately ₩4.6 trillion ($3.3 billion) on consolidated sales of around ₩74 trillion ($53.4 billion).
The figures are based on Korean International Financial Reporting Standards (K-IFRS), and the company emphasized that Korean disclosure laws require mid-point estimates rather than full forecast ranges.
Key Earnings Guidance Figures
| Metric | Estimate (Q2 2025) | Range |
|---|---|---|
| Sales | ₩74 trillion | ₩73T – ₩75T |
| Operating Profit | ₩4.6 trillion | ₩4.5T – ₩4.7T |
This represents a decline from Q1 2025, where Samsung reported:
- Sales: ₩79.14 trillion
- Operating Profit: ₩6.69 trillion
Compared to the same quarter in 2024, operating profit has dropped sharply from ₩10.44 trillion, while sales have remained relatively flat (₩74.07 trillion in Q2 2024).
What This Means for Samsung
The dip in operating profit is attributed to ongoing macroeconomic challenges and a shift in global semiconductor demand. Samsung, however, remains a dominant force in consumer electronics and memory chips, and has been investing heavily in AI-driven hardware and next-gen foundry services.
With Apple, Nvidia, and Huawei ramping up chip competition, Samsung’s performance will be closely watched as the tech earnings season unfolds across Asia and global markets.https://www.everysamsung.com/1482/ea-sports-fc-25-samsung-gaming-hub/
Looking Ahead
Samsung’s full Q2 financials will be released later this month, offering deeper insights into its memory chip division, smartphone shipments, and AI hardware segment performance. The next few quarters will also test Samsung’s strategy as it continues to compete with global rivals in AI chips, OLED displays, and 3nm semiconductors.https://english.news.cn/asiapacific/
