Samsung One UI 8.5 Leak Shows New Design Tweaks
The latest leak of Samsung One UI 8.5 firmware gives a detailed look at Samsung’s evolving interface for Galaxy devices. Development has gained momentum recently, and new test builds show how the company is polishing visuals and refining usability ahead of launch. The firmware, linked to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, highlights multiple updates across icons, menus, and native apps.
Earlier leaks showed unfinished icons and visual inconsistencies. This new version is cleaner and more cohesive. Samsung has fixed several design issues, including uneven widget layouts and inconsistent color tones in the quick panel, delivering a smoother, more uniform interface.
Refined Interface Updates
The quick panel now looks sharper, with well-aligned widget buttons. The Digital Wellbeing app features a redesigned layout, offering larger, easier-to-tap buttons that improve navigation. Lock screen customization has also become simpler. When you tap an app shortcut in the corner, a pop-up window appears showing the complete app list, making personalization more intuitive.
The Phone app now includes an icon-only navigation bar that stretches across the full width of the screen. While the actual buttons remain in the center, the extended bar gives the app a cleaner, balanced design.

App Layout and Visual Enhancements
Several native apps have received layout adjustments. In the Weather app, the search bar now appears at the bottom when activated, matching the Settings app’s style. The location name at the top is boxed for better visibility. In the Gallery, the Galaxy AI photo editing panel is more streamlined, and all tab names are now visible on the bottom bar without horizontal scrolling.
Samsung has also added a soft gradient effect at the top and bottom of the screen in apps like Weather, Gallery, and Settings. The gradient creates a subtle preview of the next item as you scroll, giving a sense of motion and continuity.
The screen recorder tool has been redesigned as well. It now includes larger icons and visual labels for each option, making it easier to understand at a glance.
Overall System Refinements
Although the changes in Samsung One UI 8.5 may appear minor, they combine to deliver a smoother, more refined user experience. The design feels more mature, consistent, and responsive. The new interface continues Samsung’s focus on clarity, accessibility, and efficient navigation.
As development progresses, more improvements and hidden updates are expected. Future test builds could reveal optimizations for performance, battery management, and AI-based personalization. Samsung appears to be fine-tuning its software before the beta release, ensuring that Galaxy users enjoy a fresh yet familiar look when One UI 8.5 rolls out globally.
