Samsung appears ready to break new ground again with its Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to trusted sources, the phone will boast a slightly larger display without increasing its physical size.
Slimmer Bezels Make a Bigger Screen Possible
The Galaxy S25 Ultra already pushed boundaries with a 6.86-inch screen and ultra-thin bezels. Now, reliable tipster Ice Universe suggests that the S26 Ultra will increase that size to 6.89 inches. Remarkably, Samsung plans to retain the same width of 77.6mm by trimming the bezel size even further.
Reports estimate that the S26 Ultra’s bezels will be just 1.15mm thick. That’s slightly thinner than the 1.2mm bezels found on the S25 Ultra. This engineering feat allows the screen to grow without impacting how the device fits in your hand.
Advanced CoE OLED Display Tech
The display will reportedly use Color Filter on Encapsulation (CoE) OLED technology. This replaces the traditional polarizer with a color filter and introduces a black Pixel Definition Layer (PDL). The result is a screen that is brighter, thinner, and more energy-efficient.
Samsung first used CoE OLED panels in its Galaxy Z Fold series. The move to apply it to its flagship Ultra line suggests a strong focus on both design and battery performance.
A Thinner and Lighter Vision
Samsung has been actively pursuing thinner devices. Recent models like the Galaxy S25 Edge and Galaxy Z Fold 7 are among the thinnest smartphones on the market.
The company reportedly prefers to avoid bulkier cameras and batteries, favoring compactness over brute hardware size. Instead of chasing megapixels, Samsung will likely focus on image processing, lens quality, and variable aperture technology to improve photo and video results.
Samsung’s strategy with the Galaxy S26 Ultra seems clear: bigger, better screens in smaller, sleeker packages—a vision that could shape the future of premium smartphones.
