Galaxy Book Users Must Install Samsung’s New Quick Share App
If you use Quick Share on a Samsung Galaxy Book, there’s an important update you need to know. Samsung is launching its own Quick Share app for Galaxy Book, and users must install it before Google’s support ends on May 28, 2025.
Previously, Samsung and Google collaborated by merging their file-sharing tools — Google’s Nearby Share and Samsung’s Quick Share — into a single unified system. This allowed smooth file transfers between Android phones and Windows PCs via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
However, Samsung is now taking full control of the experience for its Galaxy ecosystem.
Samsung Introduces a Dedicated Quick Share App for Windows
Moving forward, Samsung will offer its own version of the Quick Share app for Galaxy Book users. Until now, Google’s Quick Share app supported file transfers on all Windows PCs, including Samsung’s laptops.
But things are changing: Samsung is set to launch a separate Quick Share app for Windows PCs, which it will independently manage — similar to the way it operates Quick Share on Android devices.
According to Google’s latest update, after May 28, 2025, its Quick Share app will no longer support Samsung PCs. Instead, Galaxy Book users will be redirected to download Samsung’s new app to continue enjoying fast and seamless file sharing.
To avoid disruption, make sure to install the Samsung Quick Share app for Galaxy Book as soon as it becomes available!
